Hi all,
You may remember I presented a little bit of the data from the Spring 2013
distribution of AGI's Exit Survey at the workshop this summer. Starting
this fall, we are making the survey available at all graduation points to
any department willing to distribute the survey. The American Geosciences
Institute invites you to participate in AGI’s Geoscience Student Exit
Survey this fall. This survey instrument was created to identify the
initial pathways into the workforce for graduating students with their
bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, as well as assess their
preparedness for entering the workforce upon graduation. To see an
overview of the data from Spring 2013, please read the 2013 Status of
Recent Geoscience Graduates report (
http://www.agiweb.org/workforce/reports.html).

This survey is web-based and will have a set of standardized questions. We
need each participating department to distribute the survey link to their
graduating students. Departments will be able to customize the survey by
adding specific questions that pertain to their own data collection
interests. Departments will also receive the data for their graduating
students after the survey has been handed out.

There will be two webinars in the near future to present the survey
instrument and answer any questions you and your department may have before
the survey distribution. Please feel free to register for either:

Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 3-4 pm EDT

If you know your department will participate in the survey this year, you
must send me an email at cwilson at agiweb.org. If you have any questions,
please feel free to contact me anytime.

Thanks,
Carolyn
